Default Monks need... A monastery!

Monks need a place to pray, to meditate, e.g. for a +20% chance on a +skill for the next adventure or duel, a place to donate gold to earn the favor of the gods for whatever purpose, a place to do minor quests just for the good (cleaning a garden from weed and nasty creatures )... A place for themselves to live in peace and harmony for a while! Bring us... a MONASTERY! For monks only.

Feel free to add your features for the monastery here

Monks are a very small percentage of the players in game. How amny times have you had to wait 10-20 minutes to get a Monk for a party? Exactly. This is way too exclusive.

well since monks are better than all the other classes combined I think it makes sense.

If there were equivalents for the other classes, I guess it'd be okay. Not sure what they'd be though..

Not exactly. I know more than a few monks that will hench rather than risk uncalled for pug monk abuse. Just because we don't join the groups doesn't necessarily mean we exist as a small percentage.

Would be nice if each class had a place to call its own though where only they could enter. Even if it offered no advantage other than class exclusivity, I'd still go. Heck, monks get abused just sitting in a town minding their own business, and it gets lonely in GH

I agree with Darwin, it would be cool for each class to have its exclusive island where peeps can just shoot the breeze and hang out with their own profession. No missions or quests or anything, just a hangout lounge area.

Quick little math thing here.

Ok, 8 professions right? That's 12.5% statistical distribution.

Now, for the 8-player missions, the majority seem to want a 2-monk group. So, 25% of the possible characters become monks. (Same ratio can be found in one monk in 4-man groups, 6-man throws it off a bit.)

Ok, so for every group that has 2 monks, there is a hypothetical group that's going to be without 2 monks (or two groups waiting for their second monk.) Now add on top of that, that Monks are the number one botting/soloing profession out there.

It would be interesting if ANet released a comparison of how many of each profession there are, though I'm pretty sure it would be near statistical.

End result, there are going to be a lot of groups looking for monks, but that doesn't necissarily mean that monks are the least played.

...why? The only place to find peace and quiet in this game is outside while farming, or in an abandoned district in a deadend outpost. If this "monastery" were created, it would just get flooded by all the 55ers selling their wares, as who else but other 55ers have the gold to buy their expensive crap...
